Fuming!private consultation cancelled without knowledge till today

So I get a letter today dated yesterday that my consultation has been re scheduled this is the appointment where I’ve waited till my partner has time off from his shift I have to travel 3 hour and stay in a hotel now want me to come another day as no clinic I’m fuming !!!

Can you call them up to see if they have any other endo specialists there or nearby? Sometimes they have a few specialists covering a few clinics in the surrounding areas.

Explain your situation - hopefully they'll have one nearby.

It may just be the specialist you wanted to see can't be available; emergency consultation, emergency operation, personal things / calendar confusion / changing of NHS days which affects private consultation days.

Apparently he’s changed because he’s not working from that base any more but I’ve had this booked for a month she’s not even give me time to change arrangement with it being Friday not open Saturday or Sunday I can’t change my tickets either because I booked them on my mobile so they are not refundable or exchangeable and my hotel was a super saver so I’ve lost £120 that’s not including the actual consultation cost I’m having to now probably go alone as my partner can never get off work as he does night we had to wait a month this time I really wanted him to come so he got an understanding they only do two clinics a week I’m fuming I had to arrange a baby sitter and everything

Does the letter say you need to confirm to have it rearranged, or is it just rearranged and you're expected to attend? I get that you'll lose the tickets and hotel costs, just wanted to make sure the center doesn't charge you for a missed appointment too. Perhaps see if you can call / email to say as it's short notice you won't be able to attend the rearranged date, and follow up with a letter dated the day you're going to post it, so you can't be charged for missing it.

I'm guessing there's no where close by you can go and see? I wouldn't be happy with a private center which doesn't call you to tell you these things, and doesn't have another specialist to cover the cancelled appointments, after all you will be paying so you should have better care. Perhaps change centers.

Funny thing is the letter Dosent day it’s been rescheduled just that it’s scheduled for time date not I should confirm or anything

They have not even called or left voice mail do you mean I should write them a letter I’m not happy I’ve emailed them

How odd, if you didn't have common sense you'd think they'd booked two and you'd just turn up to the first one anyway! Annoying.

It's probably just a standard letter for appointments. Still would have thought a courtesy phonecall to you would be nice to make you aware of it.

Yeah make sure it's cancelled so you don't end up paying for something you can't attend.

The lady I spoke to said the clinic will be closed so if I came no one would be there so annoying she said she had nothing to do with it though I’ve had it booked a month this is not even1 week notice

Is there a complaints / feedback team? See if there's a place to send a letter / email, even a contact us, because you need it documented what has been discussed unless they record their calls.

In the mean time start looking up other specialists.

I’m not sure I chose him cause he’s a fertility specialist aswell and has great reviews I’m on Yorkshire there’s not many close by

Just got an email of the actual consultant he’s rescheduled for the same day but different establishment I’m happy I can still go had to make some changes and still can’t go to the hotel but at least I’ll get seen
