Coming off Zoladex

Hey, I’ve been on zoladex with HRT for 5 years now, I was told by my specialist that I should start bleeding a couple days after the zoladex stopped. It’s been nearly 2 months now and I still haven’t started bleeding yet, although it’s not a bad thing just concerning as I’m 22 and just wanting for my body to go back natural. Anyone else had these delay coming off it? X

I was prescribed the chemical menopause for a little longer than you and it took me about 18 months to have a cycle again. I don’t think I had any bleeding at all for about 6 months after the injections stopped and then only had a couple of weird short bouts of bleeding (not proper periods) for the next year after that before my regular cycles returned.

Every woman’s experience of these kind of treatments is different though and duration of treatment has an impact on timeframes; so someone who has been prescribed one for 6 months may find their cycle returns in 6-10 weeks, but others who have been on it for longer may find it takes a while more.

Thank you for that’s it’s so reassuring, yeah I did think because I’ve been on it for nearly 5 years it wouldn’t be instant but the doctors tell you otherwise! Thank you xxx
