advice on questions I need to ask before a lap!

I have a transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow followed by seeing my consultant for results. He and I are both expecting to see endometriosis due to my symptoms and he predicted I will have this ultrasound then a laparoscopy - are there any questions I need to make sure I ask regarding the laparoscopy/ anything else?! Worried I will forget to ask something important.

I can’t really think of much, other than if they see endo if they go ahead with a lap will they treat it at the same time. Some laparoscopies are diagnostic only whereas some surgeons will excise what they can when doing a lap of that makes sense.

I think it would be worth seeing if the hospital where you’ll have a lap is a bgse (I think it’s called that) approved place. It doesn’t have to be since it’s not confirmed but always good to know if the people doing the lap will be at least knowledgable about endo if that’s what they’re looking for.

Other than that, it’s likely they’d give you a sick note for 2 weeks if you’re working but this can be extended if needs be, but worth asking if this is the length they would give you. And if you want to, you can ask to have your lap earlier if there’s a cancellation (where I am it was at least a year waiting list for a lap and thanks to asking for this I got seen in just over a month instead).
