Hysterscopy - lost coil

Has anyone had a hysterscope?

I have one today to try to find the coil. They said I’d be waiting months if I opted for general and this coil is causing daily agony so I need it gone ASAP.

Now the scope is today and I know I won’t be able to tolerate it, I’m so scared I’m thinking of cancelling

You can ask for local anesthetic, if that helps settle your mind. And if at any point you need them to stop, tell them and they will.

Discuss with them what's making you worried before they start and they can try to alleviate your worries.

I’ve heard the local is extremely painful?

I've had local in my cervix a couple of times, when I've had biopsies. The Drs do say in the case of biopsies (not sure about anything else) that some report that the local is more painful that the biopsies themselves. But that definitely wasn't the case for me.

I'd say its uncomfortable and a weird feeling but not painful.
