Hi all,

I've just been referred to James Cook University Hospital, endometriosis centre. Has anyone been referred here? How long did it take for your initial appointment to come through?

Thanks in advance x

I was referred there last October, got my first appointment in November and was scheduled for a laparoscopy at the start of January. So not long at all really.

The specialists are really thorough when going through and explaining everything.

I’m happy to have been referred there, rather than to my local hospital.

Best of luck with everything xx

Hi Evangelinie (if that's your real name, it's so pretty <3)

I've had two appointments now, one where I saw him briefly (he's a very busy man) and one where I spoke to his assistant. He has been so thorough and has already got me on the list for my 5th laparoscopy (it'll be my first one with him though).

Hopefully you get your appointment through soon and I'm sure he'll be able to help you out!

xx

Hi, I am also under the care of Mr Philip's, what a lovely lovely man he is, he explains alot and draws fab diagrams.

The only trouble is with me, I cant seem to get my head around it all.

I'm on numerous medications for other problems, none related to endometriosis and I have real bad brain fog.

My first appointment with him was in sep. He carried out the laparoscopy in oct, I had a follow up app with him 2 weeks ago and will be seeing him again in around 6 weeks, I hope this helps you and I'm wishing you well but like Laura8397 said, you are in safe hands.

X

Hello :) aww fab haha, love a diagram. So glad to hear positive words so thank you!

Hopefully mumofspringers is in his safe hands too!

Oh bless you that sounds awful, is there anything in particular you're struggling with? Feel free to message

That sounds like it all happened pretty efficiently, wishing you well at your next appointment and thank you again! Xx

Hi Peoni,

Thanks for replying, how efficient is he? I'm really impressed with him so far.

Aww bless you, I also have brain fog most days, this is endo related so I've been told. Have you tried writing things down? I often feel like this is the only way I can get things done.

Wow, that's happened so quickly for you, I've just had my 2nd appointment with him last week and filled in all my pre-op forms so hopefully my op date should come through soon. x

Thankyou, if it helps I will keep yous up to date with how things go.

I just need to ask him about the hysterectomy and endometriosis, if I have everything removed will this completely get rid of it?

Would it be worth trying to wait until I go through the menopause naturally?

Im just not sure on a few things but thankyou for your support.

Mumofspringers, I hope everything goes well for you, I'm here if you ever need to chat although my knowledge on this is very poor.

This place is helping me try to understand it all.

Evangelinie, he could of been an artist, when he draws diagrams, he draws them upside down so they are pointing towards you, if that makes sense, you will know what I mean when you see him.

Good luck to both of you xx

Hi mumofspringers,

He seems to be very efficient, like you say he is a very busy man.

He told me that his waiting lists are 6-10 months for a hysterectomy, I started prostap last week, he is hoping I can last on it for 6 months, he sad that it will help to shrink the endo to make surgery easier for him.

So far I'm not having many side effects from it just aching bones/muscles.

His bedside manners are lovely, I had my lap done at BMI woodlands but have to see him at james cook from now on.

Hahaha this brain fog is real, I have a chalk board in the kitchen and notepads everywhere, if it's not on the board or the list then it wont be getting done. xx
