Does anyone have a long commute to work and how do you cope?

Whilst at my sickest finding a job with a big travelling time was not an option. In fact my ex and I actually moved to be closer to my current job, which is now ten minutes away.

However, I’m now single and live alone and realised I’m going to need a better income to prepare for a rainy day. My current job role doesn’t seem to be going anywhere at the moment (it may do in a few years, and I love my colleagues, but I’m not sure I can financially wait that long).

There are much better jobs in the next city over but I’m looking at a 35 minute drive before traffic (I’m thinking an hour is realistic).

I had surgery in December but I still have endo symptoms, my biggest fear is leaving this job then being too sick to pass a probation period.
