I’m lost.

I was diagnosed with endo a couple of years ago and they put me on the depo injection to try and stop the growth but I found out recently it hasn’t stopped. I’m now 19 my pains are getting worse & no doctors are helping me, their not listening to me or I’ll see them and then they’ll just leave it without a follow up. I’m feeling very depressed, I feel like I’m going through menopause because of the depo injection as well it’s not helping and I don’t know what to do. I just want someone to listen to me.

We hear you!! I would get in touch with the doctors and say you are appalled with how you are being treated, your quality of life isn’t how it should be and it’s making you depressed. Threaten to make a complaint (find out the procedure before hand, so you can say I’ll get in touch with blah blah to make a formal complaint). If you can see an endo specialist that’s probably the best way to go!

Ask them:

- how bad is the growth?

- is it worth doing the injection anymore if they’re not stopping the growth like you thought they would?

- is surgery an option? If so, what are the effects likely to be on your endo?

- what pain management options do I have currently?

- is it likely I have a condition as well as endo?

- tell them you’d like all the relevant tests done to check your health

- ask them about support systems in your local area, because you are finding it overwhelming and depressing!

I might be missing some points, I’m new to this, so other people may add some on! Do loads of research!

Write everything down before you go and tell them you have a list of questions so you don’t forget. And I’d suggest asking them to write things down for you (I always forget half of what they’ve said to me when I leave).

Good luck! You’re not alone xx
