I've had a cervical screening and I have HPV, but they have only just started testing for this so they dont know how long I have had it for, I'm convinced its connected to endometriosis in some way, from reading online about it.
Does anyone have any information?

They are in the process of changing the cervical screening process. Previously a slide was made of the cells from the smear test. If cell changes were identified the sample would be tested for hpv. If negative return to normal recall, if positive refer to colposcopy. Some areas have already changed to the new process where they test for hpv 1st, if negative return to normal recall (3 or 5 yrs depending on your age). If positive they make up a slide and check for cell changes.
Yes I have both but HPV is much more common than endometriosis around 80% of sexually active people have it versus 10% of women with endo. Plus HPV is transmitted so doesn't explain people with diagnosed endo that haven't been sexually active so I don't think there's a link.
