Hi Spaniel, my doctor put in for me as a method to stop my periods,but it did not really work with me (although usually it's used for that) but it differs from one person to another. Hope it works with you 🤞🏻 xx

Yes, I have the Mirena IUD coil and I had it implanted in March 2017. It was my 5th treatment attempt for my endometriosis and it’s been amazing. It stopped my periods, but rarely I’ve had breakthrough bleeding. But better than that (for me as I have Stage 4 Endo), it’s significantly reduced my pain levels and frequency. When I’m really stressed, that’s when the pain comes back, but because the coil is localised to the source of the problem, it’s been far more effective than all the oral treatments I had in the past.
