Second lap tomorrow

Hi All

I’m finally having my second lap tomorrow as my first one years ago was done under general gyne and nothing was found...this time around I’ve been lucky enough to go private and find a specialist who deals with endometriosis and he thinks I do have this because of all my symptoms etc, he did also say I could Adenomyosis but won’t know until he looks in. Ultrasound scan was clear but was very very painful internally and mri scan was clear.

I’m worrying that he won’t find anything and will be back to square one😔 has anyone else felt like this??

I feel like it every time! but every time something is found. I think we get too used to the pain and symptoms they become normal to us, then we doubt ourselves before the operations. Wishing you a speedy recovery x

My first lap didn't completely diagnose endometriosis. They said I had an adhesion where my ovary was stuck to my womb, but it wasn't safe to treat it with keyhole and therefore they couldn't determine what caused it. My pain only increased over the following 5 years and then I had a second lap which did treat the adhesion and some endo on my bladder. My doctor was keen to tell me though that the extent of the endo is not at all relative to the pain. You can have very severe pain with only a small amount of endo. Sounds like you've got a good doctor so hopefully you get a clearer diagnosis this time.

I also was diagnosed with 'possible adenomyosis' through a TV ultrasound but I believe the only definitive way to diagnose this is through a hysterectomy.

Thanks for your comment hope your doing well now?

I hear so many women say it takes years and sometimes many laps to diagnose so I’m hoping he sees something in the nicest way as I want to know what’s going off.

And yes my doctor said that it’s sometimes on diagnosed through hysterectomy but I don’t want that as only 26 xx
