feeling confused after hysterectomy

Hi everyone I'm new to this site & I thought I would never have to look up about endometriosis again after having a full hysterectomy 20 years ago. I'm now getting pelvic pain again & a recent visit to the new GP to be told if it had spread before my hysterectomy it can come back. Has anyone had this happen to them ? I've been on HRT for 19 years no symptom's now I've stopped taking HRT I have pelvic pain. I am not sure if it is endometriosis as I need to have further investigation now but would be interested if anyone has had the same thing happen

Hello, I have had a hyst 2 yrs ago but pain continued so now awaiting mri results and a date to have ovaries removed. After hyst I thought the same, it would be all gone, wishful thinking. Good luck with it all as getting drs to listen is a battle.

Hi, thought I’d replied to you earlier but couldn’t have hit the button!

I think we are similar. I had total hysterectomy over 24 years ago and was put straight on hrt. I have lived in constant pain since. My drs are useless and haven’t a clue about endometriosis. I just know I still have it. It was stage 4 all those years ago. God knows what they will find now, I had a mri which showed nothing. I am going to see sp3cialust in Cardiff onthursday. Never thought I would have to see gynae again. I have read that it is very much surgeon dependant whether they get all the endo. I fear in my case not. Just wanted to say you ar3 not alone. Tryst your own body. Don’t be fobbed off by clueless gps. Message me anytime.
