Until I started on birth control, I had unbearably bad cramps. To the point that I’d overheat, feel sick to my stomach, and I couldn’t sit still in one place and a lot of times would just pace around my house in pain. They were also extremely irregular and all over the place at this time. They were and still are to a degree fairly heavy. Since I started birth control, it’s helped a lot with the pain and regulating my period. But for 6 months now I’ve been noticing a pain in my right side that seems to radiate into my hip and down my leg during my period. I also notice the day before my period I get uncomfortable pelvic pain. It’s beginning to concern me a bit but I’m never sure of myself when it comes to my health.

It could be. I get the hip pain most of the time. I was on the pill since I was 16 for heavy periods, so I was good up until 24. I started having pain during and after sex with watery blood. I would get stabbing pains lower back, constant ache and bowel issues. I’d say keep a diary of the pain and when it happens and book yourself to see GP and go from there x
