Excruciating pain ever 12 hours

Hi - any advice would be hugely appreciated.

My partner started having pain in her left ovary over 10 days ago on the first day of her period. It lasts for around 2-4 hours and then goes and comes back after about 12 hours. This has happened every day for the last 10 days - the same thing happened but only for 4 days last period.

She is taking strong co-codermol and ibrophen. Lots of hot water bottles and I push her lower back until my thumbs go numb.

Took her to her GP on Monday and they prescribed her morphine liquid but 5ml dose doesnt seem to help at all.

She is down to have an ultrasound scan on 4 March so 12 days away.

GP said to take her to A&E if no improvements, so plan to do that tomorrow if pain not eased... she has a number of other conditions including M.E., fibromyalgia and also a recent diagnosis of IC

Does this sound like endometriosis? or could it be a cyst? Seems so strange that pain is intense 10/10 for hours and then goes even after the pain meds will have worn off..

Any advice would be hugely appreciated

Hi- this sounds exactly like the pain I get, I have an endometrioma in my right ovary which is now 9cm. The larger the cyst the more pain I experience and usually it coincides with periods/ovulation.

Unfortunately painkillers r a bit hot&miss and sometimes I just have to ride it out x

We were up again in the night as the pain kicked off around midnight so going to try to get her seen today.

Something like the pill or coil may help as these things tend to breed with hormone fluctuations. I have a wk to go then in for a laparoscopy 🤞🏽
