Hi ladies, I have been suffering endo from the age of 12, have had three laps and tried all types of medication and methods. Periods has got that heavy and pain awful that days I just lay in bed curled up. Have an appointment with the top man on the 2nd January and not sure what to expect or what questions to ask. If possible can you please advose. I am currently rock bottom at the moment and fed up taking pain killers etc.

Now is your opportunity to decide what it is you want and ask for it. It could be pain management, a certain type of treatment, an operation... My top man actually asked me what I wanted and my wish was to never have periods again.
Hi Moonglo, thank for your reply. Did you get your wish. I just don’t want to be on 9 tablets in the morning and then more later on the day and what the pain to subside so I can lead a normal life. X
Yes I did! I’d been put on Zoladex after an emergency op to remove a burst endometrioma and realised that this was working for me. However, most gynaes/consultants are reluctant to give patients Zoladex long-term because of the side effects, or because they don’t know enough about it. My wish was to carry on with Zoladex until my ‘natural’ menopause (roughly 8 years) and my bsge consultant agreed. Do you understand your symptoms? I know your appt is tomorrow, but I suggest doing research on your options and seeing if you can go forward that way. Don’t be fobbed off with just pills - whatever you do needs to be measured and monitored so you can see what progress you make. Good luck!
