Sorry to hear that you're in pain. Do you have any other symptoms? I get really sharp upper abdominal pains will last any where from 8 hours to the longest 2 weeks. I'm not sure if its endometriosis yet though. My gastroenterologist told me he thinks it could be it so I'm waiting to see a gynecologist in a couple months.
The pain i get starts under my right rib. It then spreads across my tummy. The doctor wonders if i have endro on my liver. Which from all accounts is unusual. The pain can go on for around 3 weeks, getting worse before it gets better.
However yesterday when i had to go back to the doctors as i was again in so much pain, he said it is unlikely to be caused by endro as its to high up!!
So now im left worrying what else it could be and still waiting for a scan! I just wondered if anyone had experienced pain from endro being so high up
I read somewhere that endo can be found anywhere even high up on the diaphragm so I imagine the pain may be related to that like you say.
I have horrendous pain back again aftet my surgery in Jan to remove cysts ovary Fallopian tube and cut away endo stuck to other places.
I am so gutted as went through that in the hope it would sort my problems. Well I guess it did for a few months. The pain I get is like someone is tearing my insides and ripping them apart. Currently I have constant background pain which I just deal with day to day but is not pleasant. This is why I know it has come back as it's day now and hurts to walk again.
Yep it's a dull background pain in my abdomen and then it gets worse at times. Also feel like I'm torn inside when I walk. It's not pleasant only hope that my consultant surgeon next week has some answers x
Hallo, endometriosis can occur anywhere, so don’t let your Dr rule it out. You can google specific symptoms (like endo pain under rib) and make sure to read the reputable articles. This fact sheet mentions endo can grow anywhere (see lymphatic or circulatory spread): endometriosis-uk.org/sites/...
You’re welcome. I’m sorry to hear you’re suffering this on your own, but I hope you don’t feel alone. This group is great for propping each other up.
You might also want to check this out: bsge.org.uk and try to find a specialist near you. Your doctor can refer you, although I’m not sure if you already need to be diagnosed. If you believe your symptoms add up to endo, then you should push for a laparoscopy as this is the only way to diagnose it. Best of luck xx
