What jobs can I get while having endometriosis ?

I’ve lost multiple jobs for being sick and calling off. I stopped going to college , I can barely get out the bed but I still need to live and support myself. I would love to work from home . Any ideas ?

I’m sorry to hear that. I wish employers would be more understanding with this condition. What are your interests ? Or like doing ? I’ll see if I can come up with some ideas xx

Hello I get where you are coming from and like Apollo blue said employers need to be more understanding. I personally can’t believe it’s not classed as a disability because my goodness it’s debilitating. I will follow your post to see others ideas.

My thought was a subscription box business, have a look at the many websites who set this up for you for a small fee x

Hi,

I dropped out of uni (media production) because I couldn’t get out and about to do the projects. I was much better at essay driven courses which I could do from bed.

I have a career in admin (I got a level 3 diploma from my college). In my first admin job I was based in an office alone which was perfect, as I could curl up with a hot water bottle and not worry about interacting with other people.

I was made redundant from that and had a string of temp jobs. I found that open offices and long commutes made me much worse. They were also not very understanding, there was no sick pay (which was difficult for consultant appointments and tests alone), and no security.

I now work for a brilliant company, we have a small office which I think is ideal for me and sometimes we can work from home, so for me finding an understanding employer was the important thing. I do mention endo during interviews (with a positive spin, just to explain that if o have a long toilet break I’m not skiiving). It may put some employers off but those employers wouldn’t be worth working for.

My boyfriend is a software developer. He gets paid far more than me, he has a relaxed office with a casual dress code and he can work from hone whenever he likes. If I could go back I would definitely look into a career in IT.

However, some people suffer with an office job (sitting all day) and prefer to be on their feet.
