My endo was diagnosed 4 years ago by general and lasered. I then went back a year later as no improvements with pain/symptoms and they found no endo and inserted the Mirena.
The mirena massively helped my daily endo pain and my periods for a whole year, but even though it has low hormone levels, I still got depression and anxiety whilst on the Mirena. I had it taken out after a year and a half because it stopped helping with the pain after a year.
I am now with a BSGE hospital and I am meeting with the specialist on the 22nd to discuss a possible operation, he has told me there are high risks due to having to go through the nerves because I suffer with nerve problems on my right side. He is happy to do the operation but I think would like to delay it further for my own sake.
So I am now thinking about trying the Mirena again, because if it can help my pain for another year it’s better than nothing. I also don’t know whether the depression I had was caused by the Mirena or other things going on at the time. I know I can have it removed whenever I want, too.
What do people suggest I do?
