Hi,

I've had a bit of an update since the last time i wrote on here. I decided to see a fertility doctor as the baby cloud has been over me and since being diagnosed years ago and having major surgery last year for my endometriosis I have had that question that I needed answering but was scared to ask "can I have still have kids". Long story short the good news is my fertility is still there which they were surprised with severe endometriosis but then came the "but" that dreaded "but" lets just say it's going to be a struggle (high risk of ectopic pregnancy and low chance of conceiving naturally)and I now need i think about my options. I'm terrified. I also had a follow up endo appointment and was told I now have adenomyosis after having a recent MRI (of course I do another thing added). I now been put back on Zolodex for 3 months to give my body a break from the pain then have to think about maybe doing the depot injection (I think that's what it is) where one of the side effect is weight gain which doesn't sit right with me especially as I've put on weight since this last year and I'm struggling with motivation to go to the gym. My Brain is on overdrive again and all over the place. So thankful that my fertility is ok but it's the "buts" and added stuff. I continue to take one day at a time but sometimes it's hard.

Hey, completely understand how you feel. I have struggled with endo and adeno and had the hormone injections too. I thought I would put on weight as well so as a counter measure I went on weight watchers and endo diet - lost 2.5st whilst on the treatment as a result. Enjoy your life and don't let the fertility issues control you, I cried so many tears and endured so much stress over it for 5 years (wasn't in a place to have a baby when I was diagnosed and then needed some surgeries first), doctor's were not optimistic for me and suggested hysterectomy at 27. I had two very early miscarriages and then a successful pregnancy with my son. Within the six months of trying I got pregnant 3 times (with a two month break) despite having 'no chance'. It may take longer for you, so don't take what I say as gospel, but what I'm trying to say is the doctor's don't know everything and you haven't been written off so like the ad says 'it's your chance - take it'.

Like I said, enjoy your life, this is your journey to a baby, when they come along you won't have the same time with your partner, family, friends. While you are waiting for baba, see and do things you've always wanted to and cherish the relationships in your life. Be proactive in getting yourself into the healthiest physical and mental place you can be for potential pregnancy, the side effect of this is that you'll feel stronger and more able to cope with any fertility struggles that may be ahead and be happier than you would be otherwise. In short don't let the baby take up the full 100% of life - they will do enough of that when here, fight for you and what you want. My last consultant's attitude was 'you never know until you try' and my mum always said 'your time will come' - I wish I'd listened, they were pretty wise. x

p.s. what's below is copied from another post but I thought it might help you x

Everyone is an individual and experiences differ - just because someone has the same diagnosis won't necessarily mean you'll go through the same as them so don't let any 'horror stories' scare you. - positive mental attitude is key!

At the time I was going through all the stress I found being proactive kept me busy and my mind off things, I got healthier, lost a few stone, went on the endo diet and stopped the painkillers, which I believe aided conception but also made me stronger to deal with everything.. Also did fertility acupuncture every week which helped.

Other stuff that could help:-

Follow nhs guidelines to the letter, is a good idea if hubby comes off booze too to improve sperm quality. Pregnacare preconception multivitamins for both you and hubby good idea too.

Buy a thermometer (£10) and start bbt tracking this was a hell of a lot more accurate for me than the standard ovulation tests and cheaper. Endo ladies can have funny cycles - I ovulated anywhere between 12 and 21 days so the tests were never going to work! Here's a sample chart you can use

. babycenter.com/0_blank-bbt-...

I had the my days app which is fab (you can format temps to Celsius, it's set up for Fahrenheit). Also lets you diary Endo symptoms and will give you a highlighted few days when you should focus on ttc, usual even when not trying though! I input temp and symptoms then every few days transferred info to the paper chart as this meant I could highlight and add stuff where I needed. Keeping the chart helped me conceive, keeping the symptoms diary helped diagnose upper gi Endo and avoided General gastro surgery so was fab for me!

If you're not on it try the Endo diet - made me feel a lot better and creates better env for preg as calms down Endo.

Hope all that helps! Xx
