Hey I’ve been on Prostap for 2 months now I read somewhere you can still get pregnant and the pill doesn’t work while on it. Is this true? I got told to keep using the pill just to balance my hormones out xx

I would definitely use barrier contraception while on Prostap because I think it’s possible to become pregnant on Prostap but would be dangerous to do so. I’m surprised that you weren’t advised carefully about this xxx

Welcome to the forum. If you are unclear about your treatment, please do go back to the doctor/consultant and ask them for more information.

The patient leaflet for Prostrap says:

"If you are a woman of child-bearing age, you should use non hormonal contraception whilst receiving PROSTAP SR. Although PROSTAP SR causes periods to stop, it is not itself a contraceptive. If you are unsure about this talk to your doctor."
