Trying Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat Endo and Pelvic Physiotherapy

Hi Guys

Since western medicine (surgery and contraception) has completely failed me in treating or stopping the advance of my endometriosis, I've decided to try acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to treat it along with using a physio for chronic pain. I've searched a whole bunch on here for people who have given Chinese Medicine specifically a go, but I couldn't find much, so I've decided to write a blog keeping a record of how it goes for anyone else whose in the same boat. The address is medium.com/@endingendo214?s... if you're interested, or if you have any questions about how I've found the practitioner or current symptoms, just post a question on here or the blog and I'll get back to you.

Hi! I've been taking Chinese medicine (herbs) and acupuncture for half a year now (with breaks) and it seems we are one the same boat! :) western medicine (so let's be honest - contraception) didn't help me, besides a laporascopy which confirmed stage 4 and removal of 4 cm cyst on my ovary. If you would like to ask anything or to compare our experience, let me know :) good luck :)

Hi :) so great to hear from someone in the same position! Have you made any other lifestyle changes other than the Chinese Medicine like diet or exercise? Is Chinese medicine the only thing you're now using to treat the endo?

Can I ask what symptoms you had when you had your first period after acupuncture and herbs? I have been having acupuncture for three weeks and taken supplements, normally my period doesn’t properly start for three to four days but for the first time in a long time I have a free flowing period however on the down side I have never felt so ill with my period. The pain has now eased but I just keep throwing up and feel like I have sea sickness. My therapist has said that sometimes with Chinese medicine it get worse before it gets better for people with chronic Qi and blood stagnation. I really do believe this but I don’t know how much longer I can take feeling like this x

Hi

I have stage 4 endo and just had a 14 cm ovarian cyst removed. I have a ‘frozen pelvis’ due to it being completely obliterated my adhesions etc. Thankfully I am in no pain and my consultant calls me an enigma! I completely changed my diet, exercised, stopped all meds (refused any form of contraception due to the fact I didn’t want anymore hormones), and did acupuncture and meditation. So wishing you lots of luck. You really have to be in the right head space first. This is hard as the pain drags you down a dark hole but it can be done! My young daughter was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago (thankfully she’s in remission now). Although I wish this had never happened, I obviously had no choice but to put my life on hold and focus everything on her. She was my priority and not my endo. So my advice is get a specialist endo surgeon, pay private if need be, correct diet, exercise (to focus the mind), acupuncture and meditation. Good luck xx

Hi Jujuhawk,

Thanks for the advice, you're so right about focusing on the mind, it's the one thing I haven't concentrated on that I need to! Very glad to hear you're in no pain and you could be there for your daughter :) xx

Hi - good luck but ensure any ‘Chinese medicine’ is free from cruelty to animals. I have stage 4 endo - a frozen pelvis caused by adhesions - 2 cysts & 2 fibroids that have to be left as I am too tightly wrapped to operate on without causing permanent irreversible damage to my bowel which is stuck to my uterus & my bladder. This is also the cause of my infertility. Hope you get some peace & painfree days.

That's really great advice thank you, I'll check that with my doctor when I see her this week. I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time too, I'll let you know if this medicine changes things for me.
