So I have my specialist appointment finally next week & whilst I’m pleased someone is taking me seriously , I’m a bit nervous too. I have had 3 internal examinations at the GP and every time they have to stop as I’m in top much pain. I’m nervous that when going for my appointment I’m going to be put in that pain again.
My mum having had endo thinks That they will definitely have to do a lap to diagnose & also be sedated in order for them to examine what they can’t when I’m awake. Has anyone got any tips or advice to keep me calm over this as I’m so scared of hospitals , as stupid as that sounds. Thankyou xx

Hey, I have painful internal examinations and at my last appointment, my gp couldn’t do one as I was panicking and flinching on the bed.
I saw a gynae at Spire last year and he was really nice and talked to me all the way through the exam and was calming etc. Maybe try and distract yourself like singing in your head or talk to the nurse who is present.
Just mention that they are painful and you can choose not to have an internal examination as it’s your body.
I’m waiting for my lap and they will probably suggest one as it’s the only official way to diagnose endo since it can be missed on scans. Hope you get some answers soon xx
Thankyou so much for your advice . I’m just struggling so much & I can’t stop crying about all the procedures which are likely to need to be down. It sounds so pathetic I know !
Don’t worry, it doesn’t sound pathetic. No one is a fan of the hospital or having tests/exams done. I’m freaking out over surgery and haven’t even got a date yet xx
