Hi.

I have stage 4 endo with bowel inclusion. I have a 8cm and 4.5cm endometrioma on one ovary and a 5 cm on the other and no tubes.

I underwent IVF at the start of the year, it was my second go. Unfortunately for me despite a really positive reaction to the drugs, the harvested eggs did not fertilise.

As an Endo sufferer I felt I was treated well by my clinic with good monitoring of progress and changes in doses when necessary. I was told upfront my chances were 15% to 20% of being sucessful as my endo is extreme but went ahead and I had to pay for the treatment. I found down regulation great as it shut down the endo and I had a few weeks of normality, the stimulation was harder and even now I think my ovaries hate me!

Mine is perhaps not the success story you hoped for but hopefully the following advice is helpful to you;

Go to open evenings of potential clinics, speak to the consultants at these and gague thier reaction to endo and IVF.

Don't choose one too far away if possible.. I had scans every other day and thankfully was only 4 miles from my clinic. The travel home after egg collection is not the most comfortable!

I got a good feeling for my clinic and felt they could meet my needs as the consultant was an endo specialist also.

Talk to your partner, about the process, the emotion, how you will feel at the end... its hard!

Not sure if any of this helps you. My parental hopes are at a close now, so I am on the pill and trying to get my life back. Endo is a real cow!

Wish you all the best

X

Endo is a cow is putting it very mildly👏👏👏 I just want to give you a big hug and say endo is 💩💩💩

Thank you for your comments we have a clinic about 7 miles away and the other is around 45 miles. The one that is 7 miles I have to travel to London for the egg collection etc which is around 60 miles so there swings and round abouts to both.

I came off the pill about 4 weeks ago, first time in 18 months I have been brave enough to do it, and started Accupuncture in the hope we could watch cycles, focus on being really proactively healthy before ivf in sept .... nope period then ovulation mania meant that with in 10 days off coming off I had to go back on pill as I was bed ridden, 10days!!! I had surgery last July and have not been off pill since so was really hoping I would get a few months reprieve , no. Endo is a 🐮

Fertility clinic next week and then London consultation the following. Am hoping to ask about cortisole injections to help with pain for when I come off pill again, the worst pain is in my back, I can cope with the stomach pain much better.

Thank you for your well wishes and sharing your difficult journey x x
