Never posted before but have been reading for a while.
I’ve got my first consultant app this afternoon and feeling so anxious they’re just going to write off all of my pain/symptoms.
Has anyone got any good questions they wished they asked when they were there that I should ask? And what roughly can I expect from today? I’m aware that appointments can all be different but would be good to know
I’ve recently had external/internal scans of my uterus, bladder and kidneys and there wasn’t anything to be seen (cysts etc) and I’ve been keeping a pain diary every day for the past 7 weeks so I’m hoping that’ll help back up what I tell them today.
Thank you!

Hi, good luck with your appointment! I had my first gynaecology appointment last week. I was asked a few questions, and then an internal examination was done as well as a smear test (i’d never had any of this done before as i’m only 20 so was a bit nervous but it was honestly fine). My consultant then told me that although my symptoms didn’t necessarily point to endo, he was unsure what else it could be so if I wanted a laparoscopy he would refer me for one, so he did.
One thing I would say is that if you experience any symptoms that you think are relevant but are not asked about, give them. I didn’t, as there were things he didn’t ask me about, but I wish I had.
Other than that, good luck and I hope you start getting the answers that you need!
