Got a cancellation appointment to see endo specialist this Wednesday ๐Ÿ˜

โ€ข16 Replies

Hi ladies.

I was offered a cancellation appointment for this Wednesday to see the endometriosis specialist; I will be given full details Monday morning before work ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m not sure what to expect ; Iโ€™ve had two laps within around 8 months ; endo removed from POD and some left on rectum ๐Ÿคขwhich fertility specialist says needs an endometriosis specialist that works alongside a bowel surgeon.

Anyone who has been to an endo centre and has advice to offer would be much appreciated. xoxo

I've just had my appointment with my specialist regarding having my endo removed from my colon - had a previous lap to remove all other endo 4 months ago. Mine was really helpful, he didn't recommend surgery immediately as my symptoms have improved; however he did say he would be 1/3 in favour of doing the surgery to get rid of all endo considering I still have some symptoms, 2/3 against (1/3 being it's more invasive - another surgeon required, and 1/3 because my symptoms have improved). So if I opted for it he would understand. I guess you could ask that sort of thing.

My hubby and I went home and talked, we decided as we're not planning but not preventing; just enjoying a healthy sex life, and whatever happens happens, we'll get as much endo removed as possible so we know were we are. I've emailed my specialist mentioning that with a possibility of having an op in June / July, as it takes time to book both surgeons. I am waiting for his reply.

I know all the above may not be relevant however I'm hoping it helps you think about your appointment xx

That is helpful to know how it all works.

Weโ€™ve been ttc 6 years 8 months; it took nearly 6 years to find the cause; yep endo was found and treated in June last year and we conceived ( first time ever) but I miscarried and endo returned; Iโ€™ve been told by my fertility specialist Iโ€™m prone to it recurring ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ like you most was removed but some left on bowel area.

Your op sounds similar to what mine might be; with bowel endometriosis you need a bowel surgeon present .

ill have to see whatโ€™s what when I see him.

Hope you hear an from him ๐Ÿ˜˜ xoxo

hi. That's brilliant news you should find it so helpful, I felt someone finally understood what I was talking about I nearly cried with relief!! I found it helpful to write a time line of what had happened up to that point which he seemed to find useful and kept to discuss with the other surgeons.

hope you have a really positive appointment and you come out with a plan.

xx

Thank you.

My fertility specialist has been very supportive but I do need an endo specialist to look at this.; itโ€™s their area. ๐Ÿ˜

I will be doing that thank you ; I want to be as prepared as possible. Great tip ๐Ÿ˜˜ xoxo

Itโ€™s great news that you have an appointment so soon xx
