Had my hysterectomy 2 weeks ago tomorrow, they removed my uterus, tubes and cervix, I had stage 4 endo and severe adhesions removed and also my bladder was shaved as it was stuck to my stomach wall, my surgery was very complicated fee things kept going wrong, my endo was in very vascular places which caused lots of blood loss. After my surgery even tho I was in lots of pain from the surgery I felt better, I didn't have my usual aches and pains in my back hips legs and groin area, past few days these pains have flared up and I'm feeling so uncomfortable and down, really thought this was it I was going to have my turn at a normal life for the first time since my early teens.

I knew that because I'd kept my ovaries it was very likely that endo wld eventually grow back but the way my endo Dr was talking I thought it wld be years, these pains are very similar to what I had before the survey, I no if I ask about it al prolly be told it's just the healing process and I really hope it is and I'm wrong.

Has anyone else had endo removed and had it come back? Can uz let me know how long a break u got from it and what happened when it returned, did u have more surgery? Hormone treatments aren't an option I don't respond well to it, hence the reason I chose to keep my ovaries x

Hello really sorry to hear you are in so much discomfort and pain . Can you contact your surgeon for help and advice’? It’s very early days in your recovery so it may just need time to settle ? You certainly can get some pain relief to help you through theses early days . as well . Or see your gp to check all is well if that possible. Take care xxx

I had uterus and tubes removed nearly 6 months ago and I'm sorry to say that my pains have returned gradually over the past few months. I also had adenomyosis which was causing the worst of the pain so I'm glad I'll no longer have to go through that he'll. I was also hoping that I would get a bit longer pain free. I had an ultrasound a month ago which showed endometrioma regrowing on my ovary which is where the pain originates. I'm waiting on a follow up appointment with gynae.

Hi Sarah!!!! I wouldn’t worry too much at this stage , I haven’t had a hysterectomy but I had my first lap last year June and I was in agonising pain for months before I healed properly and it was all gone I too thought that my endo pain had never gone and was so down about it until it all vanished one day luckily . Another thing stay hopeful and patient and I’m sure you will be alright every ones body heals and acts differently so just Becuase other people get symptoms much sooner doesn’t mean you will too my doctor told me it’s very rare for people to get endo symptoms back as soon as 5 years after a total hysterectomy so don’t worry !!! Make some dietary changes it will also help you heal faster and feel better love :)
