A link to my post that has some good answers... my stitches were the same. I was trying to keep mine dry which I think stopped them dissolving, once I started getting them wet they eventually came away they did take a while though X

wow that was a really informative thread thank you! Yeah I see, I shower mine every morning then stick new bandages on them not sure if I should let them in the open a bit more lol x

I had 3 of mine ripped out after a week which was the most painful thing in the world! Then I found another at the bottom of my bellybutton but felt sick at the thought of that one being ripped out, so I had to leave it. My lap was end of November and that one finally crumbled away on new years eve x

20 days post op and my belly button stitches finally came off today! The stitch on my bottom left abdomen came off last week. I always hear two weeks but give it a little longer but if they’re bothering you call the doctors and they’ll take them out, I thought mine weren’t budging in my belly button but yesterday they started looking a little loose and finally popped off this morning :) x

Yay Congrats on the stitch:) I be celebrating when mine come out. They not bothering me at the moment physically just a pain to maintain, I give it another week and a half then I might see the GP/nurse to see what to do next:) x

After my lap last year it took probably around a month before most of my stitches dissolved. I’m a week post op now after a second lap and mine don’t show any signs of even starting to dissolve or anything.

I don’t think you should still be covering your wounds at that stage though, I’ve always been told the next day my dressings should be removed, and if I do want to put some back on it should only be for one extra day tops. I don’t think they can heal as quickly if they’re covered up all the time x

Ah i see! Hioe youre recovery us going smoothly :) yeah i try to stop covering then I'm scared i will itch them in my sleep so if i dont wear wear then in the day i do at night maybe i should stop that too?

You’d be surprised..... I always thought having them uncovered would make me want to scratch them and everything too, and I was terrified of waking up to see I had pulled one out. But I think subconsciously you’re just so aware of them being there that you don’t go near them. I’d definitely leave them uncovered all the time now if I were you 😊 x
