Diverticula shown on MRI

Almost a year ago I started having real bad bowel problems. I’ve had spot of endo on the bowel before which have caused me problems but this was different.This pain started half way through my 18 months of zoladex so my endo was pretty much at bay.

Once / twice a month I have had crippling stomach cramps which have reduced me to tears. I then have 4/6 hrs of this with severe diahorrea which settles when I have evacuated my bowels.

I have had a recent scan which shows no mass on my bowels but does show diverticula inside my bowels.

Apparently this is common in older people and most get no symptoms as it does not progress any further.

When it does progress it becomes inflamed and it’s called diverticulitis.

I’m just wondering if my episodes are actually down to this.

Anyone had the same??

Hi kelly!

You responded on one of my posts about my bowel problems, same as yourself.

How did your mri go? Did they find anything regarding endo? Just seen they found diverticula?

I'm actually having my mri next Monday but don't get my results until Jan 8th with my consultant.

Nothing really jumped out on the scan with regards to my bowel.

They did however find moderare diverticula in my sigmoid colon.

I’m unsure as to whether this could explain my symptoms if I’m having a flare up.
