On a countdown to hysterectomy

Hi this is my first time in here. I came across this support group when looking for information and support around hysterectomy. I have endometriosis and have tried all the treatments going and I am now booked in for a hysterectomy on the 3rd April. I'm staring to think about it a lot and worrying. Anyone else been through this. Any advise or personal experience would be appreciated. Thanks x

Hi. I had a hysterectomy and ovaries out in Feb 2015 and in worse pain so please please ensure they excise all endo at the same time else you'll be like me needing more surgery (to excise endo) after all that.

Also I'd say take a look at hysterectomy associations website as loads of useful info there.

Good luck and remember to rest well after. You'll find you have to as you can't even lift the kettle for a couple of weeks 😊

I had hysterectomy and ovaries out in 2015 due to stage 3 endo. I agree with Marcia71, make sure they excise all the endo as i believe i may now require more surgery (waiting an MRI scan). It isnt an easy decision or operation. Surround yourself with lots of family and friends and take all the help you can after the op. Eat well too as that helps. Good luck. X
