I'm waiting for my gynae appointment to come through, I'd be interested to hear from ladies in Northern Ireland and their experience. My GP is thinking I have endometriosis but I've been seen by gynae before and they said everything was normal.
Anybody from Northern Ireland?: I'm waiting... - Endometriosis UK
Anybody from Northern Ireland?
Hi, I'm from N Ireland. I was diagnosed a while back with endo. Did you have a laporoscopy? Sometimes I feel they just want to give the pill and send you on ur way. U really have be persistent.
No. I was sent to gynae at the Braid about 3/4 years ago they did an internal and external ultrasounds but that was it. His only advice was to take a break from the pill as I'd been on it for 13 yrs straight. I thought I was being referred to general surgery but it never went any further. I didn't push it but it's started up again, more pain more often so I went back to GP who has referred me to Antrim. I chased up the referral and they said I should get an appt for March. The GP has agreed that it all sounds gynae and is thinking endometriosis. I've tried a couple of different pills in the last yr and just end up bleeding constantly.
I'm in the north west. U need to push for a laparoscopy. As far as I know hats the only way of diagnosing endo. I used the Merina for coil for years and it was great but my body is rejecting it now so I'm waiting to c gynae to c wats next. It takes such a long time to be seen too. But u should talk to ur gp about the Merina, it was magical for me for a long time.
