Hi all, I am looking for a non-hormonal contraceptive. I do not respond well to the pill; which I was on periodically for 8 years. Advice and help needed. :) Thanks all.

I'm also looking for a non hormonal birth control too. I'm yet to find one i liked. I tried the copper coil and found I bled for 3 months and kept getting reoccurring bv which was awful!

I also tried the diapham which was a nightmare, I struggled getting it in and out and had to get my horrified boyfriend to route around and get it out.. Not ideal!

Oh goodness!! Sounds awful >,< I am hearing all sorts of things about the coil; some good and some bad. I am just about getting my cycle/hormone imbalance back on track so I would not want anything to interrupt that. I was also single after I came off the pill; now I am seeing someone new and we are just using condoms which honestly I would prefer not to.

..... still searching. Have you ever used the Mirena Coil?

Yeah I used both the mirena and had similar experiences with both. I also found I felt more agitated and depressed but I know everyone responds different.

My mum had the mirena and her periods stopped completely and she loved it. She only had light spotting through the first month then nothing for years!

Wow! Hmmm I was considering getting the Mirena coil recently. It might contain a low dose of hormones but the pros and cons of the copper coil outweighs it; it seems. You're right everyone is different. I shall see. Non-hormonal seems to be a lot harder than I originally anticipated; especially having endo.

Hopefully you find the right one for you too HollyFrances! :)
