Zoladex question...

Hi all,

I had my first lap on 12 September and now have Stage 4 endometriosis confirmed. A few hours after the lap I was given my first Zoladex injection as my symptoms got drastically worse very quickly and my specialist wanted to stop this happening between the lap I've just had done, and the joint surgery with the colorectal specialist in January.

I've been suffering with headaches and hot flushes from the Zoladex but have experienced quite a lot of bleeding in the last 24 hours and I'm wondering if that's normal. I experienced a little vaginal bleeding post op but only for 3-5 days, and I've been able to go without a pad/liner since then. On Friday morning I noticed a little dark stringy discharge when I wiped but thought nothing of it. That continued through Friday and I woke on Saturday morning to bright red blood. That continued through yesterday but had eased off, and returning to the dark stringy stuff last night before bed. This morning I've woken up to bright red blood again, and lots of it. It feels like too much for it to be spotting. I've got light cramps as well, but I think that's down to my bowel which is obstructed due to the endo and only moves in the morning.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried?

I had bleeding on and off while on prostap3 in between my two operations.

If concerned, best to contact the consultant' s PA to check.

Hey, I didn't have any bleeding and I was on Zoladex for 2yrs... It did take 3months for my body to get used to it tho, and hrt helped with the flushes... You should see your gp if it doesn't settle. Xx

No, they said they could give me 6 injections with my HRT. If I have to stay on it for longer because they can't do the op on that time frame then they have to add in HRT to stop osteoporosis being a problem.

Oh okay. I was fine for the first two weeks (apart from the hot flushes and odd headaches) so thought I'd got off lightly, but seemingly not. It's really knocked me, I just hope it improves as my medical note has run out and I have to go back to work tomorrow!

I ended up contacting my specialist endo nurse earlier this week about this as I'd started cramping and my bowel was flaring and I was concerned about cysts. She was concerned and urged me to go to my GP as she felt it was a post op infection. I'm now on a course of 2 antibiotics to combat it which has resulted in the bleeding and bowel pain easing.
