That sounds promising!! Just a shame we have to turn to PALS to get things moving sometimes. X
Good luck I did similar complain to Pals and the service manager on the Tuesday then was telephoned on the Thursday for cancellation on the Friday !!! It's a shame we have to complain but sometimes it does work X everything crossed for you x
Aw, I hope this means you are getting your operation very, very soon. So glad to read this.
It is a shame us ladies have to get pals involved. I've been harping onto anyone who will listen to contact pals after my own experience, to speed things along, even though I know it doesn't always make a difference. I just feel so sorry there are ladies waiting ridiculous times who don't even know about pals or where to begin to start that fight for their right to treatment within a decent time frame! It's not fair when ladies are suffering so badly and for so long.
It is the patient liason service, (pals) each hospital has one as Tboag has said. If you are unhappy about your treatment/hospital service etc. you can contact them and they may be able to resolve the issue.
I used them to Inforce the 'NHS 18week right to treatment'. The NHS aim to take no more than 18 weeks from your GP referral to treatment, including any tests and investigation, and my consultant told me my surgery (which was to be my course of treatment) was potentially going to be upto 6 months away from consultation. I emailed and rang to complain and luckily, after a few conversations, pals managed to get my surgery date within the 18weeks.
I'm so glad I read your post I never thought of complaining to the hospital in fact I've never formally complained at all I'm waiting on an "urgent" abdominal scan (urgent to my gp but clearly not the hospital) I've been told the wait is 16 weeks before any treatment at all it's impossible to think I may see a consultant and have lap within the two weeks following I definitely will be contacting my hospital pals xxx
