I'm 18 years old and just been diagnosed with endometriosis & feeling a bit lost. None of my friends really understand it & my mum tries to dismiss it whenever I want to talk about it. I haven't seen my consultant since my laparoscopy as I'm struggling to fit it in around my uni timetable.

If anyone can give me some advice/ explain the condition a bit better i'd really appreciate it

What are your symptoms? Was it a diagnostic laparoscopy or did they remove endometreosis?

Have they suggested any treatment? Did they tell you what they saw lesions or cysts?

Endometreosis varies and no one can predict what will happen. I was 19 when I got diagnosed and was discharged from Gynaecology. But won't go into my story.

There is also the endometreosis helpline and website

I found endometriosis uk website SO helpful in explaining the condition, what it means, what it is, how to deal with it, what your options are etc. There is so much information available there to help you get your head around it.

If possible see if you can join your local support group (again this info will be on the website) to have a chance to speak with other woman who can relate.

Best of luck with your discoveries.
