As you will have seen from my previous post I'm new to this group and the possibility of being diagnosed. I see that everyone refers to stages of endo. Could some explain what these stages are please I.e stage 2, stage 4
Thank you

Stage 1 is very little spots (called lesions). Hardly noticeable when seen with the naked eye. Very little location places.
Stage 2 has more spots and can be seen better with the naked eye. There also may be several locations where the spots are.
Stage 3 has lots of spots, many locations, and adhesions. The adhesions are like super glue in your body. They are usually the result of some sort of trauma. Such as previous surgery, or the stupid spots bleeding and irritating the surrounding cells.
Stage 4 has spots EVERYWHERE in the abdominal cavity. There are loads of adhesions, and most of the time the adhesions have adhered organs to places they don't belong. Stage 4 is the worst of all the endo in terms of damage to the body.
Please remember, that the amount of lesions or stages have no correlation to the pain you feel. You can have stage 1 and be in the worst pain of your life, just as stage 4 can have no pain at all. It all depends on if those nasty things are near your nerve endings or on some of your organs. Although I think pain tolerance has something to do with it as well.
Stage 1 - minimal
Stage 2 - mild
Stage 3 -moderate
Stage 4 - severe
I think medics are trying to get away from the staging of endo as its not that accurate
