hello,

this is my first time on this website. I was diagnosed with endo and mittelschmerz a few weeks ago. From around january i had a lot of pain and irregular bleeding, also some ovarian cysts. During this period i ended up in hospital.I was off work for 6 weeks and came back to find out i was getting a written warning. I constantly felt stressed by my work place and now i have a diagnosis i thought they would maybe have a meeting with me to go over everything. It is now approching the end of october and i have not heard anything from them. Can anyone advise me on what to do next?

You shouldn't be given a warning from work if you have got a sick note from your Dr. If you ended up in hospital then it sounds serious and your work place should be more understanding. Did you communicate with them when you went off sick?

Hope you feel better soon.

i had several sick notes and HR came out to my house and visited me. I called most days and followed the absence procedure. i was told because there were no mitigating circumstances i would get a warning. I have a meeting with my department director today as i am not happy that no one has spoken to me since the diagnosis. any suggestions on questions i should ask?

Your doc should make this a chronic condition and your work will have to accommodate you. I remembered I was off for 6 weeks and all my paper work was in order because my manager visited me in hosp. and my hubby explained to him what the gynae discovered. We must all remember that our health comes first and that any business needs healthy staff..

I think given the circumstances you should ask to see the company's policy on sickness in staff.

You should also get copies of the notes from your dr, maybe see if he/she can draft a letter. You could direct them to this website.

Endometriosis is a disease that can cause so many different issues and is made worse by stress.

You could also visit your citizens advice bureau for advice.

I wish you good luck with this, some people are ignorant and uncaring. Hopefully your bosses are just ignorant of the condition. Politely put them in the picture and in the meantime inform yourself as to what your position is.
