Clomid and endo :(

I am 32, diagnosed with endo in 2010, had 2 laps to drain ovarian cysts and treat endo.

Have recently been put on clomid as we have been trying to conceive for what seems like forever! We have been referred for Ivf but my partners a smoker so we r having to wait for the 6 months smoke free.

My gynae said I should give clomid a try while I wait as my cycles were a little irregular, little did I know how much it would affect me, my endo is back like wildfire had it all removed in August and I'm in so much pain, I can feel the cyst on my left side again.

Really just don't know what to do anymore I'm so confused , all I want is to feel better and be pain free, I was feeling brilliant after my surgery and these bloody tablets have made it all so much worse! I can't get an appointed with my gynae for weeks and I'm in agony :( sorry for the rant but I feel like my heads going to explode.

Hello.

Clomid is bad news for us Endo sufferers. Clomid increases the production of oestrogen and any Endo that you have will grow more rapidly as a result.

I was prescribed Clomid as I also have PCOS. The drug definitely angered my Endo. Personally, I would keep away from Clomid if you have diagnosed endometriosis.

Best of luck.

Thank you for the reply, Found out about this far too late, wish I'd researched it first and wouldn't have taken it but I just wanted to be doing something I'd been feeling so rubbish and not getting anywhere.

Surely my gynae knew this It makes me so angry!

Yes he should know it!

The thing that makes me SO cross is that I always feel as though the medical profession (I'm an X nurse) only tells us what they want us to know!

Also wanted to let you know there is hope. I was diagnosed with Endo and PCOS in 1991. With medical and surgical help, I went on to have three babies.

I wish you all the best.

Xx

Hi they want to put me on this after my lap, as been trying for a baby for 7 years now, and it feels like my only option to get pregnant as I've not long got married and we are desperate for a baby, it's also putting a strain on my marriage as I feel like it's my fault xx

I had my last lap in August and since then I've been feeling so much better although still getting really bad pain during my period but so much better in myself.

I have had 3 cycles of clomid so far and started getting pains in the 2nd, just had my period last Thursday and the pain was horrendous, worse than ever had before and I'm still in pain.

my endo is back with a vengeance and I'm pretty sure it's because of the clomid I would think very carefully about taking it I wish I would have :(

I'm in the same boat I feel like it's my fault all the time too as my partner is fine, I'm do down at the moment as I feel like I've just lost the last year by taking the clomid, I'd been feeling so good and now I just feel like crap!
