Aged 30, cysts on both ovaries. Waiting on my op to get the stupid things removed. Diagnostic lap said they were severe!
Has anyone had successful ivf with severe... - Endometriosis UK
Has anyone had successful ivf with severe endometriosis? I'll be 30 by the time my turn comes round!
I too had stage 4/5 endo, on both ovaries, bowel, bladder and pouch of douglas. Endo was removed, exactly a year after the lap I'm pregnant for a second time. Don't give up hope.
Hi, if the cysts are severe then once removed is there any other endo which will cause problems? I only ask because I have endo on ovaries which my fertility specialist says should not cause any problems with ivf when I'm ready. Unfortunately I have blocked tubes and adhessions which have stuck ovary to tubes so once I have my op he thinks I'll have at least 40% chance which is just as good as anyone without endo. I have had my amh tested which has come back really good and this can help give them an idea as to if ivf is a good idea. You would need to be refered to fertility for this blood test I think, but although I don't have good news yet I thought I'd share that endo on ovaries does not neserceraly mean it's a problem for ivf. It all depends where it is from what I understand. I hope you get your op date soon so they sort the cysts and keep thinking positive I've read a lot of very positive stories over the last few months so there is a lot of hope! X
Thanks both for replying. So I have a 5cm mobile cysts on my right that is attached to the ovary and they say that can be removed. The one on my left is more 'tricky' they told me as it is attached on all 4 sides so that's my ovary, pelvis, uterus and bowel and is 2.5cm. I've had a lap already but they didn't remove them as they didn't know how far into the bowl the cyst was so they stopped and just looking. When I woke up they said that I needed an MRI to check position of the cysts. But I had an appointment with the consultant and his words were your endo is severe and you will need ivf! I just got such a shock because I didn't think it would be stage 4. I've got my op in November so hopefully they can remove the 2 cysts. They said I have a 40% chance of ivf working. But my appointment for that isn't until June. Anouska1980 thanks for letting me know that as I like to here about cases similar and people getting pregnant. Sometimes you read negative things and it's makes you feel like you have no hope! Lilyflower thanks for your experience to. The consultant said they will call me in for an Amh test 3-4 months prior to the ivf starting and he thinks I'll still have plenty left in there. I do try and be positive and just try and think it will happen. Sometimes I just have a bit of a wobble. Thanks
