Hiya - we tried for 2 yrs and really struggled with irregular cycles, pain and bleeding ++ brought on by sex. Every month when I got my period I felt so depressed. Had a hysterosalpingogram that confirmed my tubes weren't blocked, so consultant said try clomid while waiting for an IVF appt. The 2nd month on clomid we conceived our little girl! I bled the whole way through the pregnancy and had bad pain at times but you don't mind as long as that baby stays put! She is now 21 months old. After having her the pain came back when I got my periods but not as bad so we decided not to use any contraception and see what happened. We tried properly for about a year and conceived again (despite having to grit my teeth at times!). Unfortunately bad luck gave me Toxic shock syndrome in July and that made me miscarry but at least we've managed it against the odds so I need to stay positive about that. It's not easy ladies I know, but I wish you all the luck and 'bloody minded ness' it takes to do the deed when you least fancy it! You can do it! Xx

Hi I have had endor for 15 years I had clomid tabs to have my first son then I conceived natural after 7 years then had a daughter 2 years later so I have been very lucky the endo is now back. I need a hysterectomy but I have been very lucky so don't give up hope it can happen xxx

Yes. I've suffered with endo since I was a teenager and at the ripe age of 30 am now expecting my 3rd little miracle. In fact, she is due in about 2 weeks time. It took a long time to conceive, but we just accepted that it would happen if it was meant to and waited. Everything else seems to work OK for me, so thankfully I've carried well once they are in there! I guess it all depends on your individual circumstances of course, but for me, endo certainly didn't stop me having a family.

I'm worried now about how it will come back after my cycles start again - I was all over the place after my last baby and far from being better the endo came back with a vengeance. However, that is a bridge I will cross when I come to it. For now I'm thrilled about the impending arrival of my 3rd (and final) bundle of joy and hope that you also manage to conceive.

Good luck xx

I've suffered for 14 years & tried 3 years ago & nothing, went back on contraception during wedding planning & then trying another year now & nothing. Got a referral appointment in a month if they decide o give me a laparoscopy that'll be my 4th, went to an adoption meeting last night to get more info & feel positive about that but I can't have IVF as my husband has 2 children from a previous relationship. The temptation to have more treatment & go back onto contraception to control my pains & just adopt feels strong at the moment, after 14 years I feel exhausted of pains, appointments, blood tests etc ! Xx

Hi there,

I was officially diagnosed with endo in 2009 but I'm convinced it went I diagnosed for years before that. My husband and I had been told that because of my history with it to try for six months and then go back for a referral to the fertility clinic.

We had started the process with tests etc an I was given a course of provera to kick start my cycle which appeared to have ground to a halt after a course of prostap injections last year. Before starting the provera I was told to take a pregnancy test to make sure I wasn't pregnant and the test was negative.

I took the course and waited for my period to appear so I could start the Clomid but it never arrived. After a week I phoned the clinic to ask what I should do and was told to wait for another week and then phone back. The week passed and still no period so I decided to phone the clinic again. Before I did this I thought the first question they would ask me was could I be pregnant so I did another pregnancy test. You could have knocked me over with a feather when the test came out positive!

I'm 14 weeks along now and, touch wood, everything is fine so far. It has come as quite a shock to us both though as we had prepared ourselves for a long and difficult journey but it just goes to prove, miracles can happen. Please don't give up hope. Good luck!x

Johewer I know how you feel, my other half has 2 children from a previous relationship and we've been told it will be unlikely we will be accepted for IVF. I would like to point out that even though he has 2 children I don't have any and it's not him that's having the trouble to conceive its me. Every month I pray my period will be late and get extremely down when it comes but like people tell me "relax and it will happen when it happens"

I am exactly the same as you carrieann04 all of my friends have at least one child and I have 7 nieces and nephews from my two brothers and sister. My younger sister (by 8 years) had her third in February and my partner and i have been trying for three years I get really down at times and often wonder why me.

Have you looked into your PCTs policy on ivf if your partner has a child? I didn't think we would get funding for that reason but in my area they do (Tameside and Glossop) Near Manchester x

There's a lot of PCTs that do still fund, I know of some people that have found friends or family in catchment areas where they do,in my area they fund 3 cycles. Worth doing a bit of research, I always thought no one funded if one of you had a child. Was so surprised to find out my area did x

Yes. I had surgery to remove lots of the endometrial tissue (I had previously had 2 cysts removed) . After trying for 6 years as soon as the tissue was removed by a specialist I conceived in 3 months! x Do not give up. Eat a diet that is very fresh and healthy (I cut out wheat and reduced dairy) and I exercised every other day. I also had accupuncture - which claims to help fertility , it certainly helped me to relax. Any questions, ask away! x

hi,

I fell pregnant naturally in 1996 after 18 mths of trying (always had painful periods but just thought that was the norm) tried for second baby after my son was 1 no sucess after 1 yr, had camera in 1999 "mild" endo and tilted womb diagnosed.

After clomid & failed IVF adopted a little girl in 2003 never looked back !! To my joy I fell pregnant 1 yr after adoption but sadly miscarried at 8 weeks.

Don't give up on trying I managed two pregnancies with endo decided not to risk another pregnancy as happy now with 16 yr old and 10 yr old !!

Hello.

Yes I have successfully had three children and have a long (and painful) history of endometriosis.

Good luck. X

With the support of my fantastic husband this has really helped me to stay positive in my mind talking to people on here. I've had cysts in the past but have had an ultrasound back in May & ovaries and womb look healthy but after my 3rd lap & di 3 years ago the consultants discharge letter did say that my tubes were clubbed I'm hoping they can free my tubes up to at least allow me a window to get pregnant which will probably be assisted by chlomid. I've done my research and I've tried to mentally prepare myself for the worst x
