Estrogen can sometimes be the culprit do you take the contraceptive pill or are you on hrt?

Estrogen promotes allergies testosterone prevents allergies

DHEA is a precursor to testosterone I am guessing you are female you could try DHEA some people find this helps

Then there is the issue of histamine which isn't actually an allergy but an intolerance of a build up of histamine

Then there is an allergic reaction reason which brings us back to estrogen which promotes allergies

Hi, I also suffer hives on my face. It started gradually last year but then it wasnt as bad as the last two episodes I’ve had. I’m on my fourth day. The heat and burning and swelling have improved as is now flaking and very dry ( not a pretty picture :). I’m waiting to see the dermatologist and recently spoke to a clinician who said it may not be food related but to think about what I put on my face. I clean off make up and add moisturiser so it could be that. I’m just hoping the dermatologist can find out as it’s happening regularly. I didn’t consider moisturiser or cleansing wipes so maybe it’s another avenue you could think about? Good luck it’s such a horrible condition my heart goes out to you x

Yes I have all those symptoms drives me crazy but no had no infection before it started but I had been overseas so now I’m being tested for parasites cause if you google it that can be one of the main causes

Hi I had a severe reaction after having my second child In June 2011. I was put on steroids and each time I came off them the hives came back more severe After months of allergy tests and specialists I was referred by my go to St Thomas hospital London. I was put on a research project and used to test new possible treatments. I was finally diagnosed in October 2012 with chronic idiopathic urticaria, chronic pressure urticaria and angeodema. I have taken so many different types of meds for this and nothing seems to work for very long, though currency I have been 8 weeks hive free! I've been told I could wake up one day and the condition could be gone. To cut a long story short my consultant gave me this website to use. I found it very helpful. I hope you do too. bad.org.uk/for-the-public/p...

I have had the same now for 4 years had all the tests and all they can tell me it's either chronic or will just disappear on its own. They gave me other reasons for flare ups such as sudden change in temperature, stress, and where your clothes cause some type of pressure--all things that can't be controlled. Do you also get angioedema? My lips and eyes occasionally swell with this condition.

There was no infection. The reason for the condition is unknown as anything can trigger it.

There isn't enough research into it. Hence why I volunteered to be part of the research and medication trials. It's a crazy condition. It can be debilitating if you let it beat you.

I had it really bad for a few years and was given several creams, started also getting tingling in lips and nose and was eventually diagnosed with Urticaria. The dermatologist looked at me, asked if I had been on anti inflammatory medicine (ibuprofen or diclofenac) which I had been and then suggested a clean diet for a year and then elimination tests afterwards. I had to stop eating tomatoes, peppers, chillies, spices, citrus and preservatives for a year and then try one of those things a month to see the impact.

It was tough, but my symptoms went away pretty quickly on the clean diet and then I started trying things and remain allergic to the first five but am now okay with preservatives. It I eat some things I get an immediate reaction and with others it can take a week or two for the hives to start but if I am good and don't eat any of them, I remain symptom free. It makes it a pain to cook and to eat out but you get used to it and its certainly better than the hives!

Good Luck, hope you work it out.

No but my whole body itches continuously. I liken it to feeling like being covered in insect bites!

Not tingling limbs but when I eat something I get tingly nose and mouth, almost like when you are drinking something bubbly. Not insomnia as such but it was disturbing my sleep because I was so itchy - I think that this is common with most severe hives - so I took Chlorphenamine (the drowsy anti histamine) at night and it helped me sleep.

Also worth saying that stopping eating for a few days does not help, skin is the slowest organ in the body and you need to allow at least 9 months on a clean diet and then try one thing each month and wait to see the impact as the symptoms are not always immediate but can be lasting.

Hi. How is this now? Im literally suffering with similar symptoms. I get tingling all over my body. Hands, legs, feet, arms, fingers, thighs, buttocks, shoulders. It all started about a week after I slept with a new partner. Ive had all the STD tests done. All clear. They will not test for herpes as they say I dont have sores and the symptoms do not fit the herpes profile. I also feel like I have some slight numbness on the left side of my face. Like it feels a little dull. I dont have any visible rash which makes this difficult to diagnose. I had some initial insomnia but it comes and goes. Feels more like nerve tingling than an actual rash and seems to move around.

This all started in early June and still going till this day. I took 20mg of antihistamines a day last week for 2-3 days and it nearly completely went away. I stopped on Thursday last week. One week later the itching is back. Not as intense but still there. It started after about 4-5 days.

Not sure what it is. I need to get back to the Dr and see if they can send me to a dermatologist. Im not really allergic to anything apart from a slight intolerance to dairy. I now drink Cashew milk so not sure if thats causing it but Ive been drinking that for 9 months or so with no issues.

Hi Jimmy. No rash. I just have itching all over. I'm getting a private herpes test done next week just so I am clear it's not that. The itching remains. I did have insomnia initially but not sure if that was just stress/anxiety. It wasn't complete insomnia. I would just wake up at like 3-4am and then could not get back to sleep.
