loss of Taste/Smelling

seeking others with same problem for advice sugestions How to cope daily..Food ideas ect..I do twice daily Nasal Rinses..Can I get NeilMed nasal rinse sachets free on Dr prescription..im age 71 go to QE hosp in Birmingham every 6 months ?

I have no sense of smell and my taste is affected too.. I can taste sweet but some things are far too salty ...I have never used saline as yet.... I have had a couple of operartions on my nose one for nasal polyps and the other to clean it out.. none has helped though...if you find a way that works please let me know... good luck!

hi thanks for your reply.im 71 now & lost my taste/smell around 10 yrs ago reason unknown which makes it worse Dr said my olfactory nerve just stopped working all they've offered me was an ct scan shows polyps are blocking olfactory from working when I nxt go to QE in b,ham will ask why they cant remove them with an op.maybe 2close 2 brain.its only thru knowing jesus as my saviour that keeps me going bless you David
