I have been sleeping on a western style futon for most of my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything. They do say that it takes a week or so to get used to them. It isn't for everyone, but I think that is the point, not everyone does well with the same mattress, it is a very personal thing. Someone once told me the best thing to do is go to a shop that has all the different types of mattresses on display and spend 10 minutes on each. I know someone that took a book with them and read for 10 minutes on each type of mattress to find one that worked for him. Not something you can do on the internet, but sometimes it is better to pay a bit more for buying from a shop.

Hi, I have a soft bamboo memory foam matteess with a bamboo topper and then I have an inflatable Repose mattress on top (I got on the NHS via my OT). Its the only way to stop those pressure points!
