Sounds like you've had a nasty chest infection and it will take a while for you to recover. The body does take longer to get back to normal as you get older.

Best wishes x

Hello, I'm sorry to hear you are having problems after the flu jab. I had the jab a year ago this month and immediately came down with a respiratory bacterial infection called Haemophilus influenza coughing up mucus so much I broke a rib. I was given four courses of antibiotics and prednisone which gave me neuropathy tingling, fatigue and lost 2 stones in weight. I lost mobility and had to use a wheelchair to get around. I've had many tests MRI, CT scans and nerve conduction tests all negative apart from some bronciestisis in a lung. I have since been unable to take any medicines as I have allergic reactions and I still have the Haemophilus infection. In April I started to make some headway getting back some mobility and I am now back up to normal weight. I continue to have weak and shaky periods and then not so bad if I don't overdo it. Last month I saw a Chronic fatigue consultant who thought I was in recovery from CFS. I had previously been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my doctor thinks the flu jab pushed it into Chronic fatigue. I wish you well and hope as its still early days that you make a full recovery.

I guess you did not have the flu jab this year. What sort of reaction did you have to medication. My daughter got SJS 15 years ago which is usually a reaction to medication but hers was a virus, she made a good recovery but she is registered partially sighted from it and her face is marked.

Hello! No I didn't have the jab this year my doctor and all the consultants I saw said don't have it again. I was also covered in a bodywide red rash hives as well. I tried to take vitamins and omega 3 even painkillers at first made my throat go tight and I came out in hives again. The most frustrating thing is not being able to take antibiotics to help the respiratory infection but the respiratory consultant has just referred me to immunology. It feels like having the jab then all those antibiotics and steroids in one month has sent my immune system out of control and sent me into Chronic fatigue. My doctor told me there's been another lady at our practice who has suffered the same as me after having the flu jab, allergic to everything, even eating sent my heart rate sky high. Its been very frustrating we had just retired and had plans!! I hope you see some improvement everyday.
