incontenience
Lots of good information. The relationship between CKD and incontinence information is about halfway down the website so he sure to scroll all the way through the article. Link:
Hi Pigeonman. Blackknight provided a great link about the relationship between CKD and incontinence. Further down in that article it mentions the importance of controlling the underlying conditions that lead to CKD and diabetes is mentioned. I believe you may be impacted by diabetes. My hubby also has diabetes (T2D) and that disease took out his kidneys and is now targeting his bladder. Apparently diabetes can impair the functioning and messaging to the urethral sphincter (a smooth muscle), which, in turns, impacts the flow of urine out. In my hubby's case, he experiences urine retention which then leads to utis, etc. For others, it can lead to leakage, etc. There are medications, exercises, and self-cathing available for him. He has opted for none of them and is able to control his problems with probiotics and diet at this time. However, there are conditions other than diabetes, such as prostate issues, that can lead to incontinence as well. Since none of us in this community can diagnose, we don't know what your situation really is. But I personally think it would be a great idea for you to see a urologist who can perform the necessary test(s) to give you a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. In my opinion, it's far better to move ahead on a problem than dealing with the aftermath if one doesn't. I truly hope you find answers soon.
