I have ckd stage 2 but noticed that my fingers are getting very swollen, especially at the morning. Did you have that as an early symptom? At the evening my fingers are a lot better but my ankles are swollen..
Thank you and have a nice day!

At stage 2 you would be asymptomatic, so I don’t think it is connected. If you eat high quantities of salt in your diet, that could possibly cause swelling, because of water retention.
Usually at Stage 2 you have no symptoms. It is unlikely that swollen fingers have anything to do with your kidneys. Even though you are 29 it could be a RA thing. Should have it checked out by a rheumatologist. I have a friend that is 35 and has damaged joints due to RA. There are treatments that prevent this from happening. Make sure you explain about your CKD when you see the doctor.
Here is a link to a website that talks about the MANY things that can be causing swollen fingers. No it is not a symptom of CKD, especially at stage 2. Remember stage 2 is MILD decline in kidney function. But as you will read it can be many other things from early arthritis, PMS, high salt intake, infection, gout, carpel tunnel, sleep position, etc., etc.Now you say it goes away during the day but then you notice swollen ankles. A lot there depends on how swollen, is swollen. For those that work all day, especially at a job where they are most often standing, slight swelling in ankles in the evening is quite normal. If you are worried, the simple answer is, talk to your doctor. Without knowing your blood pressure, medications, other medical conditions it is hard to figure out what could be your situation. But I would cross CKD off the list of possibilities. ESPECIALLY as you say it goes away during the day. Your kidneys don't know night from day.
Poor sleep position. For some people, swollen hands in the morning are a sign of sleep posture. If you sleep on your hands and put the majority of your weight on your side, you could wake up with swollen hands. Treatment: Change your sleeping position throughout the night.
