Has anyone experienced an increase in eGFR when in pain, i.e. Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and Myofascial pain?

eGFR Level and Pain
Hi. Not sure if you really mean your egfr increased (which would be a good thing because the higher the egfr the better) or egfr decreased (which is not great). But in either case I can not understand (but I am not a doctor) how Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and Myofascial pain would affect egfr (up or down), EXCEPT if you take medications to control the pain. And for how long. For example Nsaids are bad for kidneys (egfr), but they don't affect it just taking an occasional Nsaid. It takes a little time for medications to affect egfr. There are of course prescription medications, which are more powerful, that could affect egfr, but again over a longer term. But, I suppose if this is a concern, certainly ask your doctor.
YES absolutely. The inflammation that is present in a flare absolutely affects everything. My sugar readings go up. My acid levels go up. And of course it affects my GFR if I do a readings during that time. It only makes sense to keep inflammation in control. That's why I always say a lab report is only a snap shot of what is happening at the moment and to take it with a grain. It is the decline over time that is telling.
I have Rhumatoid Arthritis and have never noticed any change but my RA is controlled by Azathyoprine and Etanercept so don't know. My hunch would be that uncontrolled it might do and in my case NSAIDS are totally banned as are some of the other RA medications.
