Hello l am a 68 year old woman who has CKD Stage 3 due to having had Meningitis Septacemia. Before being put into an induced coma on life support my kidneys crashed. They are stable now with a GFR of 53 for the past 3 years. I want to be know can this be why l bruise so very easily and stay bruised for several weeks??? Thank you

Usually bruising easily like that happens because of anemia. Ask your doctor if he could check your iron and if he could run a CBC on you to check things like red blood count RBC, Hemoglobin HGB, and mean corpuscular value MCV.

Yes I went through a phase of getting bruised easily. It turned out my iron and haemoglobin were low. It is now being controlled with iron tablets and injections. Worth getting yourself checked out. All the best

I get lots of bruising too...mainly on my thighs and legs. I’ve probably been aneamic too.

Sorry to hear you were so poorly. Must have been a really scary experience!!! But glad you’re better now!
