Hello members of this wonderful community.

I have a news to share. Today I received the results of my latest labs. Gfr has improved . I am under huge dose of medications which includes Prednisolone and immuno suppressant drugs for my kidney disease.

But my serum albumin and total protein level is now well below the normal range.

I mean to ask does the low serum albumin and improved gfr has any relation?

Anyone having any idea about the low serum albumin and improved gfr?

current medications includes 60 mg Prednisolone and 100 mg Cyclophasmide . Mine is auto immune kidney disease.

So, the lower my albumin is the better my egfr. However, when my albumin is way below normal I notice other issues like mild chest pain, and slight edema. The body needs albumin and it being too low can be just as bad as it being high. Try to aim to get it to normal, without it being too high. Concentrating on just getting the egfr to a higher number is not always the goal. Your body needs to be in homeostasis no matter that number. I eat two eggs a few times a week to get my albumin to a good range.
