Fatigue due to workload

I have stage 4 kidney failure, I am 30 years old.

My GFR has decreased to 28 now(creatinine 2.85)

My kidney failure is the result of my hyperactive immune system.

I am a teacher in private institution in India.

Too much workload.

I am usually taking classes continuously for around 8 to 9 hours with two hour gap in between.

But in the evening, I feel too much fatigue. I am not able to lift myself up from the bed for hours.

And feel pain in the back side.

I think taking too much classes is hurting my kidney.

Need suggestions.

Should I leave my job?

Hello Drakula

Thank you for your message. It does seem as if you are working too hard and suffering due to this.

You definately need to see your doctor and tell them how you are.

You might also want to talk with your employer to see if you can reduce your workload. Do you have an occupational health department at your school?

I can give you a uk kidney website that might help with more information.

The topics and pinned posts may be helpful too.

Do take care and keep in touch

Best wishes

This is a predicament that so many people in the world face when they get a serious illness. Something that health care systems and governments generally do not address. With a serious illness the patient is forced to continue working to sustain their livelihood, or in many cases to maintain their health benefits, while at the same time suffering from their illness and too tired or weak to maintain the work. I think the MAS Nurse gave you good advice about finding if you can reduce your hourly work and most importantly to tell your doctor of how you are feeling. I wish you the best.
