At the time of diagnosis, creatinine level was 1.8...now this has progressed to 2.85.. I am not sure about my stage. May be 3B or stage 4 kidney disease.
What are my chances of survival .
How much time is left for me.

100% kidney function is obviously the best. But if you take care with dietary choices and lifestyle you can survive without dialysis with a much lesser level.
I had a renal crisis which almost resulted in dialysis almost 10 years ago. But I have mostly stabilised at about 30% function which is stage 3. Occasionally it dips a bit and it has risen a bit on occasions.
There are people that strictly follow kidney diets. I can't say that I do.
BUT.... I do try to stay away from processed foods. I try to eat as close to the basic product as possible. Essentially this has meant I have had to learn to cook and prepare meals from basics much more than I ever used to do. Salt is something that I do manage carefully. And I drink plenty of water to constantly flush the kidneys.
Nobody can give timescales. There are too many unknown variables. But you can often have an effect on timescales by looking after yourself.
I too have lupus although not officially told I have lupus nephritis. My renal crisis was apparently precipitated by scleroderma.
But with lupus inflammation is all important, or rather it is important to keep it under control. Sugary and processed foods tend to be more inflammatory and that's yet another reason to be aware of the levels of these foods in your diet.
Don't let fear grab you. It does absolutely no good at all. Instead educate yourself and leave worries for real crisis situations.
Please try not to be too worried. Insist on having explanations from your G.P with an early appointment with a specialist. Most people live as long as they normally would with appropriate diet for C.K.D. You need the full professional medical facts. I have a very elderly cousin with similar diagnosis for a long time. She gets on very well with good care.
Lupus nephritis is name of the disease... Autoimmune disease they say it.
My current egfr is 28...high end of stage 4.
Urine protein creatinine ratio is 0.67 mg/g
The calculator is showing me at low risk of end stage kidney failure after 5 years.....
Is this calculator reliable?
I was diagnosed in early 2012 with egfr of around 50 and it has deteriorated to 28 by end of 2018. Seeing my past results, I fear about the rapid deterioration of health.
The calculator is giving you such a good result because of your albumin/creatinine ratio. The lower this ratio the better. Yours is unusually low - lower than an average healthy person has. I would double-check if it is correct.
As for the reliability of the calculator, its tells us the average case chances of progressing. But each individual case will depend on the person's luck (or God's will). Sincerely wish you luck!
