I am 77 years old and CKD, level 3 and diagnosed at age 75. I expect will be some decline due to age related factors. National Kidney Foundation states a decline due to age

"The general "Rule of Thumb" is that kidney function begins to decline at age 40 and declines at a rate of about 1% per year beyond age forty. Rates may differ in different individuals." My kidney disease has been diagnosed as organic, and is likely age related. You have come to a good forum for support and information.

Its normal for people ascthey grow older their egfr declines. But if they have diabetis, hypertension, lupus or other chronic disease, their egfr declines faster.
